So Far

Using Vista the first day is going OK I had trouble with the SB Audigy not requiring (or prompting as does in XP) a reboot to install the drviers properly. It worked after I realized no sound, though things installed fine; I rebooted.
IE7 took a big dump though; after a time, it won't even load up, and I can't (obviously) use the bug reporting tool because of this. I downloaded FF with my XP , and then loaded it onto Vista and it works a treat, RSS feeds and all.
System seems glitchy, but I expect that, considering it is almost 8 months from it earliest gold release (I heard Jan. 2007). Programs install very slow, and the system uses a great deal more of RAM than XP, even with the fluff not loading up. I don't like how one cannot turn off the fancy logon screen, and I would like to regulate that ala the way one can change how one can logon to XP in the User Accounts menu.
Other than that, the video card was no issue, though the screen (at any resolution) doesn't expand all the way to the side the monitor; there is around a 10mm border around the screen.
In case anyone has the need to know, my system has:
2g RAM 128mg ATI 9800 Pro Vid Card 3.2 P4 Processor 2 - 120g SATA HDDs
In the meantime, any ideas on what to do with IE(xploder)?
